Lwazi Mvovo will start at fullback in a new-look Sharks backline for Saturday's clash against the Sunwolves in Singapore.
With fullback Rhyno Smith (pectoral muscle tear), centre Jeremy Ward (broken nose) and Pat Lambie (concussion) all unavailable, Mvovo shifts from wing to fullback, while Garth April and Johan Deysel will form a new 10-12 combination.
In other changes to the backline, Sbu Nkosi comes into the starting lineup on the wing, while scrumhalf Cobus Reinach replaces the injured Michael Claassens, with Rowan Gouws having flown to Singapore to take up a place on the bench.
In a completely rejigged front row, Thomas du Toit comes in for Beast Mtawarira, Chiliboy Ralepelle and Franco Marais swap jerseys at No 2, while Lourens Adriaanse replaces Coenie Oosthuizen, who has been rested in line with the Springbok rest protocol.
A final change to the pack sees Stephan Lewies come in for Etienne Oosthuizen at lock.
