Hooker Akker van der Merwe has signed a two-year contract extension with the Sharks.
The 26-year-old initially joined the Sharks from the Lions at the completion of this year’s Super Rugby tournament and played an integral part in the Durban-based team’s Currie Cup campaign.
On Thursday, the Sharks announced that Van der Merwe has signed a long-term contract extension which will keep him at the union until at least 2019.
