Injured Bulls flyhalf Handré Pollard is confident he will be fit and available for the Springboks' three-Test series against France in June.
Pollard injured his right ankle during training on 20 April and was expected to be sidelined for 10 weeks. But the 23-year-old has since revealed that his rehabilitation is ahead of schedule and that he should be fit to face France.
'Currently, things are looking good. We are ahead of schedule,' he told Netwerk24.com.
'I haven’t been out for too long, so haven’t lost that much of my fitness. You remain relatively sharp. I’ll make sure I’m ready, whether I’m picked or not is in their [Springbok management] hands,' he added.
Pollard missed the entire 2016 season due to knee and shoulder injuries and with the current injury and concussion symptons effecting him and Pat Lambie respectively, Lions flyhalf Elton Jantjies is in pole position to wear the Bok No 10 jersey in June.
