Concussion rules Lambie out

Sharks flyhalf Pat Lambie will miss his side's match against the Sunwolves in Singapore due to a concussion.

Lambie was involved in a nasty head-to-head collision with teammate Rhyno Smith in the 12th minute of the Sharks' match against the Kings on Saturday and although he tried to carry on, the 26-year-old was removed from the field to undergo a head injury assessment (HIA) which he failed.

On Monday the Sharks confirmed that Lambie is still showing concussion symptoms, prompting the decision to rest him for their trip to Singapore as a precautionary measure.

Last season, Lambie was sidelined for six months due to concussion after CJ Stander clattered into him during the first Test between the Springboks and Ireland in Cape Town.
