Boshoff back for Lions

Marnitz Boshoff has replaced the injured Elton Jantjies in one of seven changes to the Lions’ starting lineup for Saturday’s clash with the Bulls at Loftus.

Boshoff has yet to play a senior game for the Lions this season, with the former Springbok set to join Irish club Connacht after Super Rugby.

However, with Jantjies out of action due to a fractured finger and back-up flyhalf Jaco van der Walt sidelined with a knee injury, Boshoff has been drafted straight into the starting lineup.

In other changes to the backline, Sylvian Mahuza comes in at fullback for Van der Walt, while Rohan Janse van Rensburg will take over from Howard Mnisi at inside centre.

There are four changes to the pack, with Warwick Tecklenburg, Andries Ferreira, Malcolm Marx and Dylan Smith returning to the run-on XV.

Lions – 15 Sylvian Mahuza, 14 Ruan Combrinck, 13 Lionel Mapoe, 12 Rohan Janse van Rensburg, 11 Courtnall Skosan, 10 Marnitz Boshoff, 9 Faf de Klerk, 8 Warren Whiteley (c), 7 Warwick Tecklenburg, 6 Jaco Kriel, 5 Franco Mostert, 4 Andries Ferreira, 3 Julian Redelinghuys, 2 Malcolm Marx, 1 Dylan Smith.
Subs: 16 Akker van der Merwe, 17 Corné Fourie, 18 Jacques van Rooyen, 19 Ruan Ackermann, 20 Cyle Brink, 21 Ross Cronjé, 22 Howard Mnisi, 23 Ashlon Davids.
