Beleaguered EPRU president Cheeky Watson is set to quit his position in the next month.
Although Watson has not confirmed or denied his departure, two of his most trusted allies at the union have confirmed it, according to The Herald.
Apparently Watson has grown tired of the ongoing drama at the cash-strapped union. The news of Watson's resignation comes after EP Rugby was placed under the administration of SA Rugby, having also recently been ordered to file papers for the business rescue of the union before the end of the month.
According to EPRU vice-president Freddie Makoki and executive member Charles Kleinbooi, Watson is set to vacate his post once the rescue plan has been set in motion.
