Montpellier-bound Bismarck and Jannie du Plessis signed pre-contracts before Jake White's appointment as coach of the French club.
They then tried to get out of their contracts with the club when White left the Sharks after just one season and became coach of Montpellier.
The brothers have never had a good relationship with White. However, White still wants them to join Montpellier as he rates them highly as players.
According to The Mercury, the Bok duo may have no choice but to go as they have already pre-signed with the French club – which they did before White arrived – and been paid a depost of €150,000.
The newspaper added that the Sharks had failed to keep the brothers in Durban despite significant attempts to do so.
'The move will be out of South Africa,' said the players' agent Gerrie Swart. 'A move to another South African franchise has never been a consideration. In all likelihood the destination will be Montpellier – it's the only party with whom I have had discussions – but the paper work has not been fully attended to.'
Montpellier recently announced the signing of six South Africans: Lions prop Schalk van der Merwe, Grenoble and former Vodacom Bulls lock Paul Willemse, Bulls loose forwards Jacques du Plessis and Wiaan Liebenberg, Stormers flyhalf Demetri Catrakilis, and Sharks scrumhalf Cameron Wright.
