The Highlanders' superior kicking game helped them secure a 26-13 win against the Chiefs in Hamilton, according to SARugbymag.co.za's Opta-powered stats.
The visitors kicked 39 times out of hand compared to the Chiefs' 25, with scrumhalf Aaron Smith putting boot to ball on 13 occasions. In stark contrast, Chiefs No 9 Brad Weber did not kick once during the 69 minutes he spent on the field.
Highlanders fullback Ben Smith once again put the opposition under pressure with a couple of high bombs, while it was flyhalf Lima Sopoaga's clever grubber through the defence that resulted in a 5m scrum for his side, from which Waisake Naholo would score his second try.
