There were wins for Michaelhouse, Kearsney and St Andrew’s in the big school matches across the country on Saturday.

Michaelhouse defeated Hilton College 20-13 in an exciting match. Michaelhouse had a 9-3 lead at half-time, but Hilton snatched the lead after the break with a converted touchdown. A ruck infringement presented Michelhouse with the opportunity to hit the front once again, taking the score to 12-10. They then extended their lead with a try and a penalty to 10 points, before Hilton kicked a late penalty goal.

Kearsney College romped to a comprehensive 43-0 home victory over St Charles, running in seven tries. St Andrew’s thumped SACS 45-24, Pearson went down 29-24 to Bellville High in an entertaining contest, Bishops demolished Hugenote 85-0, Rondebosch eased past Walvis Bay 29-8. There were also big victories for Stellenberg who raced to a 50-0 win over Windhoek and Tygerberg destroyed St David’s Marista Inanda 58-5. While Wynberg trounced St John's 42-16 in Cape Town.
