Paul Schoeman will start at openside flank for the Cheetahs against the Stormers in Bloemfontein on Saturday.
Schoeman came off the bench in the 47th minute of last Friday's game against the Jaguares, which the Cheetahs lost 34-33.
His promotion to the starting XV sees Boom Prinsloo drop to the bench, where he is joined by Francois Uys, who takes Reniel Hugo's spot.
