Schalk Burger will start at flank, while Juan de Jongh will captain the Stormers against the Highlanders in Dunedin on Saturday.
The match will represent Burger's 100th appearance for the Cape-based franchise after making his debut against the Waratahs in 2004.
The 31-year-old Springbok becomes the fourth Stormers player to reach the milestone after Andries Bekker, Jean de Villiers and Peter Grant.
Burger's inclusion is the only change in the pack that performed so admirably in defeat against the Chiefs, replacing the rested Duane Vermeulen in the loose trio, with Nizaam Carr switching to No 8.
There are two further changes to the side, both among the backs, as the regular halfback pairing of Nic Groom and Demetri Catrakilis are restored to the starting XV after being rotated against the Chiefs.
Stormers – 15 Cheslin Kolbe, 14 Kobus van Wyk, 13 Juan de Jongh (c), 12 Damian de Allende, 11 Dillyn Leyds, 10 Demetri Catrakilis, 9 Nic Groom, 8 Nizaam Carr, 7 Schalk Burger, 6 Siya Kolisi, 5 Manuel Carizza, 4 Jean Kleyn, 3 Vincent Koch, 2 Scarra Ntubeni, 1 Steven Kitshoff.
