17th minute – Rob Horne is penalised for a swinging arm on Frans Steyn that warranted a yellow card. Fred Zeilinga kicks his second penalty to give the Sharks a 6-3 lead.
25th minute – Steyn swings Kurtley Beale by the jersey well after he's passed the ball and the Waratahs centre hits his head hard and stays down for a while. The Sharks midfielder is penalised and lucky not to be sent to the sin bin.
38th minute – Steyn kicks a 55m penalty that makes it 12-3.
48th minute – Waratahs captain Dave Dennis is harshly yellow-carded for gently elbowing Bismarck du Plessis while the referee is speaking to the players.
49th minute – Bismarck du Plessis scores a try from a lineout driving maul and Zeilinga kicks the conversion to extend the lead to 16.
72nd minute – Keegan Daniel takes a quick penalty tap and goes over for the Sharks' second try.
