Injured Vodacom Bulls captain Flip van der Merwe will not be ready for the next clash against the Chiefs.

Van der Merwe withrdrew from last week's game against the Sharks due to a hamstring injury. The Springbok lock will also miss the coming game against the defending champions at Loftus Versfeld, although he is expected to be fit to tour Australasia.

Veteran Victor Matfield will continue to lead the Bulls in Van der Merwe's absence.
