JOHN MITCHELL, writing on the Vodacom Rugby Portal, outlines what sets the three conference leaders apart from the rest of the teams.

The Stormers, Brumbies and Chiefs occupy the top three spots on the combined Vodacom Super Rugby log after four rounds and have established themselves as early front-runners for the title.

I wasn't surprised to see on the Vodacom Rugby App that the Stormers have kicked 99 times out of hand – the second most in the competition – with flyhalf Demetri Catrakilis putting boot to ball on 32 occasions. The Cape franchise seem to have realised that dominating possession doesn't necessarily result in points being scored – there are other ways of putting pressure on the opposition and building the scoreboard.
