Duane Vermeulen and Warren Whiteley both sustained injuries in the Springboks’ win over Ireland at Ellis Park, reports JON CARDINELLI in Johannesburg.
Vermeulen injured his elbow, while Whiteley took a knock to the shoulder.
Afterwards, coach Allister Coetzee confirmed that both are concerns ahead of the third and final Test in Port Elizabeth. They will be assessed further over the next two days.
The loss of both players would be a big blow. At this stage, Vermeulen and Whiteley are the only specialist No 8s in the Bok squad.
