Paul Jordaan and Wynand Olivier have been added to the Springbok squad for the remainder of the incoming series.

The Springboks currently find themselves in the middle of a centre crisis, with five 'first-choice' centres ruled out following the withdrawal of Frans Steyn and the illness to Juan de Jongh.

Coach Heyneke Meyer has acted swiftly, calling up Sharks' centre Jordaan and Wynand Olivier, who he has previously worked with at the Bulls.

Jordaan has represented the Springboks at age-group level, but has yet to make his bow for the senior team, while Olivier has played 37 times for the Boks, the last coming back in 2012 against England.

It has been a taxing week for the Springbok coach, but he hopes the new players can settle in quickly and make an impact as soon as possible.

'Paul has successfully come through the national and provincial ranks and was one of the Sharks’ in-form backs on their very successful Australasian tour since he came back from an injury a few weeks ago,' said Meyer.

'Wynand’s been with us before. He is very experienced and was one of the better players in the World XV team we faced in Cape Town last weekend, while he was also one of the star performers for his club, Montpellier, who finished second in the tough French Top 14 league.'

The players will link up with the squad shortly and will be considered for selection next week.
