Jaguares own worst enemies

The Jaguares' high error rate cost them against the Highlanders, according to SARugbymag.co.za's Opta-powered statistics.

The 34-8 scoreline is a bit flattering for the Highlanders considering the Jaguares enjoyed 54% possession and 55% territory. But the hosts failed to capitilise on that and make their dominance count.

They made 114 carries to the Highlanders' 93, matched the visitors for defenders beaten with 23, completed 131 passes to 123, made 10 clean breaks to nine and won 74 rucks to 56.

However, 18 handling errors, most of which came inside the red zone, relieved the pressure on the Highlanders, who could just sit back and wait to pounce on the opposition's blunders.
