Where you should put your money on the Super Rugby final this weekend, according to MARK KEOHANE.
And then there were two. Based on last weekend's semi-finals there can be no argument that these are the best two teams in this year's tournament. The Crusaders were simply too good for the Sharks in Christchurch, while the Waratahs showed steely determination against the Brumbies to secure a home final. These two teams have done this finals dance before, with the Crusaders coming up trumps on both occasions. This time the match will be in Sydney though, and this time things will be different.
The Waratahs have been a class apart on their own turf this season, winning every one of their home games. They've scored the most points, conceded the least and are justifiably the favourites heading into this one at 8/10 with Betflash. They might've been stronger favourites were it not for the finals history of their opponents, the Crusaders. The team from Christchurch are the most successful side in the history of the competition and can be taken at evens, this despite suffering defeat in their previous final appearance on Australian soil against the Reds in 2011.
From a betting perspective, I'm going with the Waratahs here. They're good value at 8/10 (R180 return for every R100 wagered) and even better if you back them to win by four or more points at 14/10. For those expecting the Waratahs to come on strong in front of a record crowd in Sydney, you could do worse than backing a Crusaders/Waratahs Half-time/Full time double (Crusaders to lead at half-time and Waratahs to win) at around 6/1 with Betflash.
