Heinrich Brüssow will undergo groin surgery later this week and has been ruled out of the Cheetahs' last game of the season on Saturday.

The flanker missed last week's clash against the Sharks because of a groin injury, and it's now been confirmed that he will need surgery. The Cheetahs will be without their star openside flanker when they travel to Ellis Park to tackle the Lions.

As expected, Brüssow will return to Japan next week and will play for the Docomo Red Hurricanes when he has fully recovered.
