Coach Robbie Fleck says the Stormers' pre-season warm-up game against the Jaguars will provide ideal preparation ahead of their Super Rugby opener.
The team from Argentina boasts a formidable squad featuring a number of the Pumas’ 2015 World Cup stars, with the Stormers set to face the Jaguars at Newlands on 13 February before kicking off their Super Rugby campaign against the Bulls a fortnight later.
'The Jaguars have the potential to surprise a lot of people this season, so it will be a great test for us to ensure we are ready to make a strong start to the competition,' Fleck said.
Before taking on the Jaguars, the Stormers will also take part in a 'friendly' against the SWD Eagles in George on 30 January.
'It has been a tough pre-season conditioning phase, so it will be good to see what sort of progress we have made when we face the Eagles and the Jaguars,' Fleck commented. 'After these two games we hope to have a clear idea of where we are, so that come the start of Super Rugby we have a squad that is match-ready.'
