Former Springbok and Stormers hooker Tiaan Liebenberg is believed to be considering coming out of retirement.
Liebenberg retired after injuring his back in a Currie Cup game in 2014, but according to Netwerk24, a call from former teammate Duane Vermeulen is believed to have persuaded him to reconsider his future.
Liebenberg is said to have undergone back surgery last October, having been treated by the same surgeon who operated on Vermeulen when he sustained a serious neck injury last year.
It’s believed Liebenberg is currently training at the Free State Sports Institute and could feature for the Cheetahs in Vodacom Super Rugby if he can prove his fitness.
