French club Stade Francais have bolstered their strength in the second row with the signing of Sharks lock JJ van der Mescht.

According to a report, the 22-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the club until the end of the 2024 season.

Stade have reportedly been keeping track of Van der Mescht’s progress since he was a junior and has now finally landed his signature.

Commenting on his move, Van der Mescht said: “It was great at the Sharks, but I am really excited to move on and play in France and learn from new coaches and players that will make me a better player.”
