Herbst returns to Sharks

The Sharks have confirmed the signing of prop Wiehahn Herbst, who rejoins the franchise on a short-term deal from the Lions.

The 32-year-old front rower had previously played for the Sharks between 2009 and 2014 before joining Irish club Ulster for a five-year spell until 2019.

He then returned to South Africa having signed for the Bulls in 2019. A year later, the Lions lured Herbst to Ellis Park, where he has been earning a living until this recent swap to the Sharks.

The exact period of his short-term deal with the Sharks remains unclear.
