The Crusaders scored eight tries as they recorded a convincing 50-33 victory over the Highlanders in a Super Rugby warm-up match in Darfield on Saturday.
Although a host of All Blacks players were not on duty, the Crusaders will be pleased with a performance that enabled new coach Scott Robertson to have a look at some of his player depth.
After a scoreless opening quarter, the contest was effectively won during the second 20 minutes of action as the Saders scored four tries to go into the break leading 26-14.
The Crusaders continued to dominate possession during a high-scoring second half, and ultimately came away with a satisfactory pre-season result.
