Injuries have forced the Kings to reshuffle their side for Friday's pre-season match against the Cheetahs in Port Elizabeth.
With hooker Martin Bezuidenhout, prop Jacobie Adriaanse and lock Schalk Oelofse all unavailable, the Kings will field a new-look tight five.
Coach Deon Davids has also made some alterations to the backline, where Shane Gates and Stefan Watermeyer combine in the midfield.
'This is our first Super Rugby team that we are playing against, and we want to see how the team performs against a Super Rugby side,' he said.
