Goromaru set for Reds debut

Fullback Ayumu Goromaru has been named in the Reds match-day squad for their pre-season fixture against the Brumbies in Ballymore on Friday.

Coach Richard Graham has retained the majority of the starting lineup that lost 31-3 to the Crusaders last week, but there is a solitary change in the front row where Greg Holmes replaces Sam Talakai at tighthead.

In a host of changes to the bench, Goromaru is the headline act among the reserves and could make his franchise debut if he is used later in the match. Fellow Japan international Hendrik Tui, who plays lock and flank, is also on the bench.

Reds – 15 Karmichael Hunt, 14 Chris Feauai-Sautia, 13 Samu Kerevi, 12 Henry Taefu, 11 Eto Nabuli, 10 Jake McIntyre, 9 Nick Frisby, 8 Jake Schatz, 7 Liam Gill, 6 Lolo Fakaosilea, 5 Rob Simmons (c), 4 Cadeyrn Neville, 3 Greg Holmes, 2 Andrew Ready, 1 Ben Daley.
Subs: 16 Saia Fainga'a, 17 Sef Fa'agase, 18 Sam Talakai, 19 Ben Matwijow, 20 Curtis Browning, 21 Hendrik Tui, 22 Scott Gale, 23 Sam Greene, 24 Junior Laloifi, 25 Campbell Magnay, 26 Ayumu Goromaru.
