Dewald Potgieter has signed for the Worcester Warriors and will join them immediately for their home Premiership clash against Bath this weekend.
The loose forward has 70 caps for the Bulls, and six in a Springbok jersey. He also boasts two Super Rugby titles with the Bulls in 2009 and 2010. In recent years he has been playing for Japanese side Yamaha Jubilo, who he helped to their first ever title in the 2014-15 season.
'[Director of rugby] Dean Ryan is building something really unique at Worcester and it's something that really appealed to me,' said Potgieter. 'I can't wait to get started and to try and earn the respect of my teammates and hopefully I can add something to the squad.'
Worcester have struggled in the Premiership this season, and sit third from the bottom on the log with only two wins.
Ryan hopes the new addition can bring some muscle to a side that is desperately struggling for forward domination.
'Dewald is a talented flanker with a wealth of experience at the top level from his time in Super Rugby,' he said. 'He has played with and against some of the best in the Southern Hemisphere and his inclusion in the back row will be of huge benefit to the pack.'
