The Sale Sharks beat Saracens 14-10 in Salford to stay in contention for the English Premiership play-offs.
Sale scored two first-half tries through centre Sam Tuitupou and lock Jonathan Mills, with flyhalf Danny Cipriani, who recently made a successful return for England in the Six Nations, converting both.
The win takes Sale to fifth on the log, a point behind fourth-placed Exeter and fifth-placed Saracens.
In other results, Northampton extended their lead at the summit to nine points as they earned a 21-13 away victory over second-placed Bath, flyhalf Henry Slade scored 25 points as Exeter beat Harlequins 32-21 at the Stoop, two penalties and a drop goal from flyhalf Freddie Burns helped the Leicester Tigers beat London Irish 12-6, Gloucester scored six tries to thrash London Welsh 48-10, and a last-minute converted try by Wasps earned them a 23-23 draw against the Newcastle Falcons.
