Former All Black Mils Muliaina will start at fullback for the Chiefs against the Crusaders in Christchurch on Friday.
The 33-year-old is back with his old team after two seasons with the NTT Docomo Red Hurricanes in Japan.
Ex-Crusaders centre Robbie Fruean will make his debut for the back-to-back champions in the No 13 jersey, alongside his midfield partner for the encounter, Charlie Ngatai.
