Mohoje back for Cheetahs after lengthy lay-off

Oupa Mohoje Mohoje back for Cheetahs after lengthy lay-off
Published on November 4, 2020

Oupa Mohoje has been included in the Cheetahs match 23 to front the Sharks at Kings Park on Friday.

Cheetahs coach Hawies Fourie has made three changes to his starting lineup and five swaps to the bench from the side that was set to take on the Lions a fortnight ago before that match was called off.

In the only tweak to the backline, William Small-Smith takes over from Benhard Janse van Rensburg.

Up front, No 8 Aidon Davis and lock JP du Preez replace the departed Jasper Wiese and Walt Steenkamp, respectively.

Among the substitutes, Mohoje comes on to the bench for what will be his first competitive match in just over two years because of injury, while new recruit Jeandre Rudolph will make his Cheetahs debut, having joined the team from the Pumas earlier this week.

The other additions to the bench are prop Khutha Mchunu, Reinhardt Fortuin and Chris Smit.

Cheetahs – 15 Clayton Blommetjies, 14 Malcolm Jaer, 13 William Small-Smith, 12 Frans Steyn, 11 Rosko Specman, 10 Tian Schoeman, 9 Tian Meyer, 8 Aidon Davis, 7 Junior Pokomela (c), 6 Andisa Ntsila, 5 JP du Preez, 4 Carl Wegner, 3 Luan de Bruin, 2 Reinach Venter, 1 Charles Marais.
Subs: 16 Jacques du Toit, 17 Boan Venter, 18 Khutha Mchunu, 19 Oupa Mohoje, 20 Jeandre Rudolph, 21 Ruben de Haas, 22 Reinhardt Fortuin, 23 Chris Smit.
