Former All Black Ali Williams will join ex-teammate Dan Carter as his media advisor at Racing 92.
There has been overwhelming media interest in Carter since his arrival in Paris in November. Racing has now appointed Williams to assist and look after the star flyhalf in order to minimise off-field distractions when he starts playing.
Williams retired from international rugby in 2013, but continued playing for Toulon before hanging up his boots at the end of last season.
‘Given his experience, Williams's main mission will be to advise and help manage the many demands of Dan Carter, including the media,’ Racing stated on the club website. ‘Mr Williams will also conduct commercial relations operations for an investment account.’
Carter is set to debut for his new club against Northampton in the European Champions Cup on Saturday.
