Lions scrumhalf Dillon Smit sustained a shoulder injury in his side’s Super Rugby Unlocked opener against the Sharks on Friday.
The Lions confirmed on Monday that Smit had suffered a dislocated shoulder three days ago and will see a shoulder specialist on Monday to determine the extent of his injury.
While there is no confirmation of how long Smit will be out of action, he could well be set for a lengthy spell.
In some more positive news for the Lions, Roelof Smit’s recovery is going well with the flank scheduled to return to full training this week.
