South Africa will play Australia in the quarter-finals of the Olympic Sevens in Rio on Wednesday.
The game, which kicks off at 11:30pm SA time, is a rematch of the Pool B clash, which Australia won 12-5.
Meanwhile, New Zealand scraped into the quarter-finals when the USA suffered a five-point defeat to Fiji. The Americans scored a late try, but missed the conversion that would have seen them qualify at the Kiwis' expense.
New Zealand will now play Fiji in the quarter-finals, with Japan taking on France and Great Britain up against Argentina.
