Ulrich Beyers will start at fullback when the Blue Bulls take on the Free State Cheetahs in Bloemfontein this Saturday.
Beyers last played for the Blue Bulls in 2014, before overseas stints with Bordeaux in France, and Zebre in Italy. However, he will now return to Currie Cup action in one of two enforced backline changes made by coach Nollis Marais.
Bjorn Basson, who started at fullback in their win over Western Province last weekend, moves to the wing in place of injured Jade Stighling, allowing Beyers to slot in at 15. Centre Dan Kriel will also start in place of injured Dries Swanepoel.
Blue Bulls – 15 Ulrich Beyers, 14 Bjorn Basson, 13 Dan Kriel, 12 Burger Odendaal, 11 Jamba Ulengo, 10 Tian Schoeman, 9 Piet van Zyl, 8 Arno Botha (c), 7 Jannes Kirsten, 6 Ruan Steenkamp, 5 Marvin Orie, 4 Jason Jenkins, 3 Entienne Swanepoel, 2 Jaco Visagie, 1 Pierre Schoeman.
