Springboks lock RG Snyman spoke highly of coach Jacques Nienaber’s technical knowledge of the game during his first news conference as a Munster player.
Nienaber took the reins from Rassie Erasmus as Springbok head coach this year after serving as his deputy for over a decade.
Before his Springbok call-up, Snyman had worked with Nienaber at SA Schools and Junior Springboks level and spoke highly of his technical knowledge of rugby.
‘I have worked with Jacques since SA Schools, so we have both come a long way and he is honestly one of the best guys I have ever worked with, especially from a technical point of view,’ Snyman said.
‘There is nothing about the opposition that Jacques doesn’t know. And if there is, he figures it out before we get to the game. It’s really nice to work under him.’

Snyman added that Erasmus’ honesty with each player was refreshing and something that he personally enjoyed.
‘Rassie is very straightforward, so everyone in the team knows where they stand,’ Snyman said. ‘Another thing about him I really enjoyed – it doesn’t matter what happens except pitching up on game day and performing at your best.’
