JC Roos kicked five penalties as the Pumas secured a 15-13 win over the EP Kings in Port Elizabeth on Friday.
The visitors emerged as rather fortuitous victors after a scrappy affair.
During a quiet first half, Roos knocked over a couple of penalties while Kings fullback Scott van Breda converted one three-pointer.
Van Breda drew the scores the level just after half-time, and although Roos put the Pumas ahead soon after, a try to replacement Lizo Gqoboka sent the Kings into the lead.
However, the Pumas responded with two more penalties from Roos, which was enough to see them to victory.
